One folder on your Mac
Chats, settings, the fox's memory — all in your Library folder. Keys go in the Keychain. Screenshots never touch the disk.

What leaves your Mac
Your question, when you ask it
Nothing moves until you ask. When you do, the question and the context you allowed go to the model you chose, and the answer comes straight back.
- You see what it sees. The context chip names the window being read, and one click pauses it. Text-only mode means no image is ever sent.
- Bring your own key and your Mac talks to that provider directly. We are not in the path — there is no AsX server to send it through.
- Models included and the request passes through the AsX relay to the model, and is forgotten on the spot. The relay keeps one number: how much of the month's credit your licence has used. A number tied to a licence key, not to a name.
An account. Your name. Your chats after the reply is sent. Your screenshots after the reply is sent. Your provider keys — on the models-included plan there aren't any.
The fox
Judged on this Mac
The fox tells work from drift by looking at the app in front, its window title and, in a browser, the tab's address. Apple Intelligence reads them — on your Mac, and nowhere else.
- Window titles never leave the machine. Not to AsX, not to a model in the cloud. If Apple Intelligence is off, a word list makes the call instead.
- A Google search is read out of its URL, which is already on your screen. Nothing is fetched, nothing is stored, and only a results page is looked at — never a Doc or your mail.
- One request, to a site you're already on. To read a YouTube video's own category and tags, AsX fetches the same watch page your browser just loaded — no account, no cookies, nothing that says who is asking. One page per video, cached until you quit.
- The day's ledger records where time went — "YouTube, 8m" — not what you watched or searched for.

Our side of the wire
None of it
AsX has no accounts, so there is no profile to hold. What our servers know is what a licence key needs to work.

Buying is a guest checkout with the merchant. The receipt, the card and the invoices live with them; AsX only ever sees the licence key they minted, and only when you paste it or when the app collects it after you pay.
